Terms of Service

Effective Date: February 14, 2026 | Last Updated: February 16, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MockLayer software and services provided by MockLayer ("we", "us", "our"), operated from Romania. By using our software or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

MockLayer is a standalone HTTP proxy server that intercepts requests to SAP OData services and returns mock data based on the service's EDMX metadata schema. MockLayer is a development and testing tool designed for backend integration testing.

The MockLayer proxy (MockLayer.Service) is self-hosted software that runs on your own infrastructure. It is distributed as compiled binaries and Docker images.

2. License Grant

2.1 Grant of License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use MockLayer for your internal business purposes during the term of your subscription.

2.2 License Tiers

MockLayer is offered in the following subscription tiers:

  • Developer ($29/month): Licensed for use on 1 environment (instance).
  • Team ($79/month): Licensed for use on up to 3 environments (instances). Includes a 14-day grace period after subscription expiration.
  • Business ($199/month): Licensed for use on unlimited environments (instances). Includes a 14-day grace period after subscription expiration.

Annual billing is available at a 20% discount.

2.3 Environment Definition

An "environment" refers to a single running instance of MockLayer.Service (e.g., development, staging, production, CI/CD runner). Compliance with environment limits is based on the honor system.

2.4 License Restrictions

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software.
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the software.
  • Share, redistribute, sublicense, or make the software available to third parties outside your organization.

  • Use the software to provide a competing service or for any purpose other than development and testing.
  • Share license keys with parties outside your organization.
  • Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the license validation mechanism.

3. Free Trial

We offer a 5-day free trial that provides full access to all MockLayer features. The trial:

  • Does not require a credit card.
  • Is limited to one trial per email address.
  • Automatically expires after 5 days. MockLayer.Service will stop processing requests after the trial license expires.
  • Trial request data (email address and IP address) is retained for 30 days to enforce the one-trial-per-email limit, then automatically deleted. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation:

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

MOCKLAYER IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Specifically, we do not warrant that:

  • The software will meet your specific requirements.
  • The software will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
  • The mock data generated by MockLayer will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose beyond development and testing.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • MockLayer is a development tool. It is not designed for, and should not be used in, production environments serving end users.
  • Our total liability for all claims arising from or related to these Terms or the software shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We may terminate or suspend your license immediately, without prior notice, if you:

  • Breach any provision of these Terms.
  • Attempt to circumvent, disable, or tamper with the license validation mechanism.
  • Use the software in a manner that violates applicable laws.

Upon termination, your license to use MockLayer is revoked and you must cease using the software and delete all copies in your possession.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. For consumers within the European Union, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence shall apply to the extent required by applicable law.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Romania, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of MockLayer after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
