Terms of Service

Effective Date: February 14, 2026 | Last Updated: February 23, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MockLayer software and services provided by MockLayer ("we", "us", "our"), operated from Romania. By using our software or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

MockLayer is a standalone HTTP proxy server that intercepts requests to SAP OData services and returns mock data based on the service's EDMX metadata schema. MockLayer is a development and testing tool designed for backend integration testing.

The MockLayer proxy (MockLayer.Service) is self-hosted software that runs on your own infrastructure. It is distributed as compiled binaries.

2. License Grant

2.1 Grant of License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use MockLayer for your internal business purposes during the term of your subscription.

2.2 License Tiers

MockLayer is offered in the following subscription tiers:

  • Standard ($29/month): 1 license key (1 MockLayer service). Includes a 7-day grace period after subscription expiration.
  • Growth ($79/month): 3 license keys (up to 3 MockLayer services). Includes a 14-day grace period after subscription expiration.
  • Enterprise ($199/month): 15 license keys (up to 15 MockLayer services). Includes a 14-day grace period after subscription expiration.

Annual billing is available at a 20% discount.

2.3 License Key Usage

Each license key activates one MockLayer service. You cannot reuse the same key across multiple MockLayer service instances at the same time. Compliance with license key limits is based on the honor system.

2.4 License Restrictions

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software.
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the software.
  • Share, redistribute, sublicense, or make the software available to third parties outside your organization.
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks in the software.
  • Use the software to provide a competing service or for any purpose other than development and testing.
  • Share license keys with parties outside your organization.
  • Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the license validation mechanism.

3. Free Trial

We offer a 5-day free trial that provides full access to all MockLayer features. The trial:

  • Does not require a credit card.
  • Is limited to one trial per email address.
  • Automatically expires after 5 days. MockLayer.Service will stop processing requests after the trial license expires.
  • Trial request data (email address and IP address) is retained for 30 days to enforce the one-trial-per-email limit, then automatically deleted. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Merchant of Record

All payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, tax collection, invoicing, and payment processing. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Use.

4.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) as selected during checkout. Paddle will charge your selected payment method at the start of each billing period.

4.3 Refunds

Refunds are managed by Paddle in accordance with their refund policy. To request a refund, contact us at support@mocklayer.dev or contact Paddle directly.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation:

  • Your license remains valid until the end of the current billing period.
  • All paid tiers include a grace period after expiration (7 days for Standard, 14 days for Growth and Enterprise), during which MockLayer.Service continues to function.
  • After the license expires (including any grace period), MockLayer.Service will stop processing requests.

5. Intellectual Property

MockLayer is proprietary commercial software. All intellectual property rights in the software, including but not limited to source code, compiled binaries, documentation, design, and trademarks, remain exclusively with MockLayer.
